We’re excited to be running a Good Sports Communities Development Session, designed to give clubs, coaches, committee members and volunteers practical tools for building positive culture and confidently managing challenging situations. Inspired by sessions recently run through Baseball Victoria, we’ve worked with Softball Victoria to bring a similar session to our softball community. Led by Pastoral Care Leader in Education and Sport, Tim Carrington, the session will explore: What a positive sporting culture looks like and how we create one What to do and say when conflict or poor behaviour arises Practical de-escalation strategies How to raise concerns with your club delegate, committee or MPO When and how to escalate an issue How to approach difficult conversations in a constructive way The session will include interactive role-play activities, giving participants the opportunity to practise responding to common situations they may encounter within their club. The aim is to build the confidence and skills of our club leaders and volunteers to address issues early, handle difficult conversations and create a positive environment where everyone feels respected and supported.
